As we are more concerned with helping SME and large businesses control their paperwork we will purely concentrate on Scanfile 8 from here onwards.

With its electronic document support it enables users to store Windows based documents, including e-mail, voice mail, word processed documents (Word), spreadsheets (Excel), audio files and movie files into a ScanFile folder.
Documents can be stored with peace of mind and greater confidence knowing that all information saved by ScanFile is secure. Due to Scanfile being independently audited, it has facilities enabling its use compliant with Evidential Weight of Information Stored Electronically (PD0008) and the BSI DISC Code of Practice for Legal Admissibility.
Storing scanned documents is easy, you can choose from JPG files or Group 4 TIFF allowing many other software packages access to use the stored documents. For greater storage capabilities, ScanFile electronic document management is able to retrieve images from a range of mass storage devices.
Canon Scanfile Version 8 also supports Canon's range of document management scanners, which include the DR3010c, DR5010c, DR3080cii, DR-X10c, DR6050c, DR4010c, DR6010c, DR7550c and the Microfilm Scanners; MS400, MS500 and MS800.
Seamless Operation
Create a perfect hybrid solution between analogue and digital systems. You can digitise your existing microfilm library by using a microfilm scanner and view it all from your PC, subject to security rights, bring all your organisation's documents, to your desktop.
Audit Trail
A complete log of activities within Canon Scanfile Version 8 can be simply maintained and retrieved. These logged activities can be selected by activity type or folder activity, or for more in-depth specific actions you can view where pages have been deleted or records within a folder.
The log can then be filtered down to only show actions that have occurred within certain folders and/or libraries or more specifically by an individual user or a number of users over a certain time period.
Complete Networkability
Canon Scanfile Version 8 gives multiple users the opportunity to store and then access documents on the system, making information simple and convenient to work from at your desktop. Indexing is centered on a user friendly 10 field index structure whilst referencing is helped by keywords, barcoding and OCR searches.
Features
The main requirement that ScanFile SBE has is hard disk space for storing your documents, but with 20,000 scanned documents typically taking only 1GB of hard disk space when scanned in black & white with today's storage options this will not be a problem.
We do recommend that you use a display with a minimum size of 17", with a minimum resolution of 1024x768, but the bigger the display, the better as you will be able to see your documents more easily
Hardware Requirements
- Microsoft® Windows® ME, 2000 or XP, with the latest service packs
- Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent Processor
- 256MB RAM or higher recommended
- 100MB free hard disk space (for ScanFile SBE)
- CD-ROM drive (for installation)
- An internet connection is required for activation
