Canon Scanfile Version 7 is a modular solution that offers an impressive range of core features and a host of innovative time saving options based on the latest advances in document management. ScanFile's modular build allows tailor made solutions to be built for specific application requirements. Flexibility is significantly enhanced with options for COLD, barcode OCR indexing, Document Routing, Audit Trails, Forms Recognition complimented by WebServer and Remote Station capabilities.

Electronic document support allows users to store any Windows based document format, including word processed documents (Word), spreadsheets (Excel), e-mail, voice mail, movie files and audio files in to a ScanFile folder.


Independently audited, ScanFile has facilities that enable it to be used in a manner compliant with the BSI DISC Code of Practice for Legal Admissibility and Evidential Weight of Information Stored Electronically (PD0008). Documents can be stored with greater confidence and peace of mind. All information saved by ScanFile is secure, however you access the package.

Storing scanned documents as either Group 4 TIFF or JPG files allows many other software packages to use the documents stored by ScanFile. For large storage capabilities, ScanFile is able to retrieve images from a range of mass storage devices.

Canon Scanfile Version 7 electronic document management also supports Canon's range of document management scanners, which include the DR3020, DR5020, DR5080c, DR3060, DR3080C, DR5060F, DR4080u, DR4580u and the MS400, MS500 and MS800 Microfilm Scanners.

Seamless Operation

By using a microfilm scanner, you can create a perfect hybrid solution between analogue and digital systems. You can digitise your existing microfilm library and view it all from your PC, bringing all your organisation's documents - subject to security rights - to your desktop. And nothing makes the information more readily availiable than ScanFile.

The personal hitlist enables you to copy, view or retrieve documents with greater ease. You can also update and change each personalised list according to your needs, making ScanFile a part of the way you work.

Complete Networkability

Canon Scanfile Version 7 enables multiple users to store and access documents on the system, so they can work with information simply and conveniently from their desktops. You can also retrieve documents quickly using ScanFile. Indexing is based on a user friendly 10 field index structure and referencing is helped by keywords, OCR and barcoding.

For fast file access, users can retrieve documents from the general hit list, personal hit list or ScanFile's powerful extended search capabilities, when exact details aren't known.

Audit Trail

A log of all activity within Canon Scanfile Version 7 can be maintained. The activities to be logged can be selected by activity type i.e. folder activity, or by specific actions, such as deleting pages or records within a folder. The log can then be viewed and filtered to only show actions that have taken place within certain folders and/or libraries, by a user or a number of users, and within a time period.
