Ballard’s on going challenge was managing a range of multi-functional and desktop print devices, each using different consumables, with very limited, manual, print management.
Staff were hugely inconvenienced with the lack of consistency and quality between makes and models, which left them frustrated when attempting to print time-sensitive materials. the school was wasting time and resources on uncontrolled printing habits and different consumables.
Drivers for Change
DMC Canotec engaged users in each department in an on-site workflow and print audit to gain an understanding of what was being printed and why. As part of the engagement process key staff were involved in a pilot to test the recommended solution and ensure ease of use, increased functionality and productivity.
The recommended Canon multifunctional devices were further enhanced with a simple unified interface for print, copy and scanning services, making it easy to use and time saving across all devices. Other cost saving features include secure print release and the option to delete documents. Ballard School now have full visibility and control over their print environment with accounting/auditing and tracking capabilities, by individual user and department.
The implementation was closely managed to eliminate any inconvenience and staff were fully supported and encouraged to get the best out of the new print system. It was a smooth and enhanced transition for all involved.
Ballard is a private school catering for around 500 children from Nursery to Senior School, situated on a superb 32 acre site that borders the New Forest.
